The “make love not war” generation reclaims its vibrancy, vitality and sexual viability in the sex-istential comedy M.O.I.S.T! (an acronym for the Multiple Orgasm Initiative for Sexual Transformation) written by veteran actresses Mariann Aalda and Iona Morris
“Just as Vagina Monologues became an agent for social change with its politicization of female genitalia and Menopause: The Musical became a theatrical juggernaut by lamenting midlife hot flashes and loss of libido,” says Morris, “M.O.I.S.T! looks to evangelize the mature woman’s inalienable right to bringing her sexy back.”
“M.O.I.S.T! is more than just a play, it’s a movement” says Aalda, who is also a certified hypnotherapist. “My practice was filled with women hypnotized by a youth-obsessed culture into believing that they’d lost value as they’d gotten older and it was affecting their sex lives along with their self-esteem. M.O.I.S.T! encourages them to snap out of it and embrace sexual fulfillment as a worthy goal with no expiration date. That is what M.O.I! (the Multiple Orgasm Initiative) is all about, because all grassroots movements start "moi" -- the individual.
Following advice given them by Menopause: The Musical creator, Jeanie Linders, Aalda and Morris also wrote a multiple-platform business plan for M.O.I.S.T! to include publishing, the internet and broadcast television under their Al & Mo Productions banner.
“Two of Hollywood’s biggest returns on investment at the box-office in 2009 were romantic comedies with a 45-year old Sandra Bullock (The Proposal) and a 60-year old Meryl Streep (It’s Complicated) in the leads,” says Aalda.
“Stories about love, sex and romance never go out of fashion...and we never lose our fascination for them. By enlisting sponsors of products used by the mature woman (which includes more than 38 million female baby boomers), we also hope to emulate what Eve Ensler (creator of Vagina Monologues) and Jeannie Linders have done by creating programs for women and girls in need of emotional support and financial assistance with our nonprofit outreach.”
In M.O.I.S.T!, a contentedly single Sonia Peechee (Morris), and her recovering empty-nester sister, Ginger Peechee-Keene (Aalda), have led very different lives, but they zealously join forces at mid-life to become the Tony Robbinses of mature sexuality with their M.O.I.S.T! motivational workshops.
